Reese Witherspoon will play a princess in a new fairytale spoof by Disney, Happily Ever After.
The film will follow a prince and a princess 10 years into their “happily ever after,” or 10 years after their wedding day. The movie will show that even princes and princesses have relationship challenges.
The screenplay for the film was written by Nahnatchka Khan, the mind behind the TV show Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23, according to Ashbourne News Telegraph.
Additionally, the project will be overseen by Kristin Burr and Erin Westerman.
As well as her starring role in Happily Ever After, the 37-year-old actress is also currently in pre-production for the film Wild, which is based on the Cheryl Strayed memoir, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Witherspoon is staying busy, but Hollywood Reporter predicts that it’s Happily Ever After that will bring audiences back to her Sweet Home Alabama days, with Witherspoon as the heroine in another romantic comedy.
Happily Ever After is just part of Disney’s push toward live action fairy tales, according to IMDb, also including 2007’s Enchanted and another upcoming film Cruella.
