'High School Musical' cast reuniting after five years

The cast of High School Musical is reuniting for one night only- and its for a great cause! The former Disney stars are coming together to support Monique Coleman and her charity GimmeMo’ Foundation.

The reunion will take place in Los Angeles at a private event, according to Us Weekly. The reunion will include Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Kaycee Stroh, Olesya Rulin and director Kenny Ortega. Zac Efron will not attend the event but will film a surprise video.

While the party is private, fans have the chance attend by donating money to GimmeMo’ Foundation. The website to donate is set up through Prizeo.

There are different levels to donate in order to get chances to win. The levels are fan, supporter, advocate, ambassador, superstar and wildcat. For each level, the prizes are bigger and bigger. If you donate $200 (wildcat status), you will receive a T-shirt, sweatshirt and a signed headshot. The levels before get fewer and fewer items.

Some of the cast members have made statements of support. Hudgens tweeted, urging her fans to donate as well. Hudgens played the shy, smart lead Gabriella Montez who had an ongoing relationship with basketball star turned surprising singer Troy Bolton.

Efron, who cannot attend for unknown reasons, tweeted his support as well, attaching a flashback photo of himself with Coleman.

The charity that they are promoting, GimmeMo Foundation, works “to address the most pressing issues facing youth globally to address the most pressing issues facing youth globally,” according to the Prizeo page. The High School Musical event will raise money to address teen suicide, cyber security and unemployment.
