Real life Batman, Captain America save cat from burning house

Men portraying Batman and Captain America for their entertainment business became real superheroes on Saturday when they rescued a cat that was trapped in a burning house.

John Buckland, dressed as Batman, and Troy Marcum, dressed at Captain America, were working at a children’s party in the neighborhood when they noticed smoke pouring out of a nearby home, according to The Washington Post. They rushed over to the burning house to make sure no one was inside.

Buckland is a former firefighter and knew what to do. He kicked in the front door, and the duo ran into the burning building. They broke a window in the front room to let out the smoke, and then Buckland reached down and felt something furry – an unresponsive cat. Buckland rushed the cat outside and gave it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Buckland described the incident to Daily Mail, saying, “The cat comes around, takes a look at me, then hissed!”

Thankfully, no one was in the house besides the cat. No other injuries were reported either – the superheroes and cat are all doing okay after their time in the burning house.
