Leonardo DiCaprio slated to produce and star in Woodrow Wilson biopic

Leonardo DiCaprio is rumored to produce and star in Wilson, a film based on the biography of Woodrow Wilson written by A. Scott Berg.

DiCaprio’s Appian Way banner is already attached to the film, Variety reports, the actor is slated to work alongside producing partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Berg; no director is attached the film at this time.

Wilson will cover the time of his two terms in office, from 1913-1921, a controversial time when America became involved in World War I, E! News reports.

Additional highlights from Wilson’s lifetime will include the death of his first wife in 1914, and his marrying Edith Galt in the White House. Galt plays a key role in Wilson’s presidency after he suffered a stroke which left him partially paralyzed which was kept in secrecy until after he left office.

This will mark the third public figure DiCarprio will portray. In 2011 he played FBI Chief J. Edgar Hoover in Hoover and aviator Howard Hughes in The Aviator.
