Chloe Bridges’ ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ audition’: difficult to ‘not laugh or turn bright red’

Chloe Bridges opened up about the intensity of her audition for the upcoming film Fifty Shades of Grey.

Bridges, from The Carrie Diares, talked to Cosmopolitan about the audition process. Bridges admitted she read the script and thought, “I really can’t do this.”

In the scene Bridges read, she’s “telling her friends about some sexcapade she had. But it goes into extreme detail and uses the word ‘sperm’… in a very sexual way.”

Bridges continued, “Mad props to the people who are going to do it. You had to be able to take it seriously and not laugh or turn bright red.”

The actors chosen for the starring roles have been announced to be Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson. They were chosen in part because of the “tangible chemistry” between them, according to NY Daily News.

Although the book is extremely sexually graphic, the filmmakers insisted to USA Today that the film will have an R rating and will not enter the NC-17 territory.

The release date for Fifty Shades of Grey is set for August 2014.
