Cat with 9-inch-long fur sets Guinness World Record

A Himalayan-Persian cat named Colonel Meow has made it into the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s longest fur.

The two-year-old, ten pound cat lives in LA with his owners Anne Marie Avey and Eric Rosario, according to Yahoo.

Colonel Meow is an online socialite with his own website, Youtube channel, and Facebook page.

Colonel Meow posted on his Facebook, “Yes, minions, it is true. Your great and humble leader is now officially a WORLD RECORD HOLDER. Today it's the longest fur. Tomorrow it's largest kingdom.”

Colonel Meow has 191 million friends on Facebook. He became popular long before his world record through a column called “The Daily What.” Colonel Meow’s Facebook bio says, “Yes, editor Kirsten Martin took one look at me and could not resist. The rest is history.”

Additionally, his Youtube channel has 14 videos uploaded so far that range from Colonel Meow trapping a bird to Colonel Meow’s Christmas. Check out the furball in the video below!
