Big Brother will officially crown its winner tonight during the live season 16, but the summer has not gone without drama.
Following a plethora of racist and homophobic remarks on behalf of a handful of this seasons houseguests, Aaryn Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman were immediately released from their positions as a model and pageant coordinator respectively. Spencer Clawson was also slammed by Union Pacific, his employer, for remarks he made on the reality series.
Now, finalist Andy Herren is the latest contestant to feel the backlash of his actions as the college he taught an adjunct communications course before going on the show will not verify if they will allow Herren to return.
According to Naperville Sun, The College of DuPage website was flooded with comments from Big Brother Herren fans after the college stated that the communications professor was no longer employed there.
“Andy Herren has formerly worked for College of DuPage as a part-time instructor,” a statement reads of their Facebook page. “He does not currently work for the College. Any behavior or language he uses on the CBS reality show “Big Brother” does not represent the opinions or values of College of DuPage.”
Joe Moore, vice present of Collge of DuPage, would not confirm whether or not Herren would have a job when he returns home. Moore also notes that some professors and parents are outraged after watching Big Brother, stating that they would not want Herran teaching their children.
“I would not want this guy teaching my kids no matter how old they are,” one mother wrote in a post “He is a horrible influence on the minds of our kids.” Other former students claim that Herran is the “best teacher” they’ve ever had.
Who do you think will win Big Brother, GinaMarie, Andy or Spencer?
