In this episode of America’s Next Top Model, the girls and guys went on go-sees to book fashion shows and then posed in a whimsical wilderness photo shoot. Then, at the end of panel, the eliminated models had a chance to return to the competition.
Last week, Jourdan won best photo (again), and she chose Renee, her runner up, to share the Tyra Suite with her.
Jourdan explained her decision, “At the end of the day, she’s a bitch, but they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
Marvin had a completely different view of Renee, though, and he wouldn’t stop flirting with her. Renee admitted to Jourdan that she liked Marvin too, and, later, Renee snuck into his room in the middle of the night to cuddle!
For the challenge this week, the models headed to style fashion week where they would have a chance to land a spot in the show. All the models would do a go-see for two clothing lines – one for all the models, one for just the guys, and one for just the girls. They would be scored on how many jobs they booked and how they did on the runway.
In the end, everyone booked at least one show except for Marvin and Jourdan. Jourdan was devastated because she’s always said that runway is “her thing.” One of the designers said her walk was almost too good, and Jourdan went around the rest of the day telling that to everyone.
Later, though, the judges put her in her place telling her that it was just a polite way of saying her walk is cookie-cutter and bland. Instead, the winner of the challenge was Renee, who booked both shows and looked fierce on the runway. Later, Renee celebrated beating Jourdan for the first time, saying Jourdan is like a “cracker with no salt.”
The next day, the models went to a photo shoot at Canyon Ranch. The models had to lie in the grass and pose for a camera that hung above them. While waiting for their turn, Jourdan decided to get back at Renee for winning the challenge. She thought that Renee was turning cocky and becoming a diva. We guess Jourdan is finally getting a taste of her own medicine. For payback, Jourdan found a frog in the grass and brought it up to Renee, who was grossed out. Then, the frog hopped right out of Jourdan’s hands and onto Renee’s designer dress! Needless to say, Renee was not happy.
In the photo shoot, a lot of the models struggled to take the photographer’s direction. Phil needed to do more with his eyes, and Marvin, who wore an awful all-red outfit (with bright red hair, too), needed to show more neck. Chris, who wore a chain-mail shirt, was doing great, though.
Before panel, the tensions were running high, and it turned into a boy versus girl showdown. The ladies told the men that the modeling world belongs to girls. Phil said that may be so, but this competition belongs to the guys; after all there were five guys and three girls left.
Finally, it was time to see the judges. Nina’s photo was phenomenal and Tyra said she looked like a top girl working internationally. Don’s photo was so-so, and Cory really showed a masculine side in his. Phil looked like the “ugliest woman” according to Rob, and Chris looked like he was straight out of the Twilight movies, in a good way. The judges told Marvin he needs to stop smiling, because it makes him look too young.
After the scores were tallied, Chris won the best photo with Nina right behind him. Following Nina were Renee, Cory, Jourdan, and Don. That meant the bottom two were Marvin and Phil. The judges told Phil he has a good personality, but it’s not captured in photos. Marvin has great bone structure, but he looks like a little boy in person. The scores were revealed, and Phil would be eliminated.
But, wait! Suddenly, all the other eliminated models walked into the room. This would be the day that the eliminated model with the highest social media score would come back! Phil joined the group of other eliminated models, and shook with nervousness. The social media scores were tallied, and Alexandra had the highest score, meaning she would be rejoining the competition. The twists didn’t end there, though! Tyra announced that as well as Alexandra, one of the male models would be returning, too! But before we found out who it was, the end credits rolled.
We’ll have wait until next week to find out which guy will be returning to the show. Don’t miss it at 9/8c on Friday on the CW. In the meantime, check out our predictions of who’s going to place where in the competition.
