Brad Pitt has a new personal best in most recent film World War Z. According to Paramount Pictures, the film surpassed the $500 million worldwide mark, beating out 'Troy' which stood at $497.3 million.
$502.6 million to be exact, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Along with being Pitt's highest grossing movie to date, the post apocalyptic flick set even more personal bests for the actor. The film is now his highest grossing opening weekend, which stood at $66 million June 1st, and highest total domestic gross, which stands at $197.4 million. Both these figures exceeded Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the previous personal record holders. The 2005 film opened at $50.3 million and grossed $168.3 million domestically, says Yahoo! News.
So far, World War Z has earned $305.2 million at the international box office. Although one can argue that the high numbers in comparison to past films may be a result of 3D price mark ups, the news is still brag worthy for the highly over budget film.
