Katy Perry's new song 'Roar' is noted as similar to Sara Bareilles' 'Brave' (Video)

Fans are raving over Katy Perry’s newly released, “Brave.” Complete with emoti-cons and an upbeat tempo, Perry fans cannot get enough of the song. On the other hand, critics are finding the formerly blue-haired donning starlet’s newest song a little too close to Sara Bareilles’ “Brave.”

The video kicks off with an all too-familiar ring tone, with Perry picking up the phone to send a text. Immediately viewers and brought into the text conversation which spell out the lyrics in the adorably upbeat anthem.

According to E! News Perry receives texts from “Shanny” (Shannon Woodward), Ferras, "Johnny Wu" (her stylist Johnny Wujak), "Mamma Mia" (MIA Moretti) and "SKEET" (Young Skeeter). Despite the songs catchy beat, some critics are slamming Perry’s latest single as a copycat of Bareilles’ “Brave.”

Pop Culture Brain layered the two songs to point out their similarities most notably the chorus where Bareilles sings, “say what you wanna say…I wanna see you be brave.”
Check out Perry’s “Roar,” then check out “Brave.” Do you think they’re similar?
