Legendary pop singer Madonna turned 55-years-old today on Friday, August 16. She has a lot to celebrate as one of the long-standing veterans in the music game.
Madonna, dubbed the Queen of the Pop, initially launched her career in 1983 with the release of her self-titled album, which also turned 30 last month. That record would feature her debut single, "Everybody," along with the top 10 hits "Lucky Star" and "Borderline."
Madonna would really be propelled into the pop spotlight with 1984's Like a Virgin. The singer would hit no. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 for the first time with the title track from the album and later peak at no. 2 with "Material Girl."
30 years into the music game and Madonna is still topping the Billboard charts like it is no big deal. Her last album, 2012's MDNA, hit no. 1 and spawned the top 10 hit "Give Me All Your Luvin."
She recently embarked on a world tour in support of MDNA. It went on to become the tenth-highest grossing tour of all-time.
55-years-young and Madonna will still undoubtedly be cranking out the hits.
