Friday's celebrity birthdays: Kobe Bryant, Jeremy Lin, and Scott Caan

Kobe Bryant celebrates his birthday today, August 23. Bryant turns 35 today. He is best known as the Laker's all-time leading scorer. He also married Vanessa Laine in 2001. Bryant met Laine in 1999 when he was 21 and she 17. They became engaged in 2000 and married in 2001.

According to the Los Angeles Times Bryant made a visit to the Drew League championship game. In 2011 he scored 45 points, but this year he could not participate because of injuries.

Jeremy Lin, another basketball player, celebrates his birthday today. Lin turns 25 this day. He is know for his $25 million dollar contract with the Rockets in 2012 and the term Linsanity. Lin currently is in the media for his comments regarding his coaches. Lin at a Taiwan youth conference made the statement that his coaches lost faith him because of his performance.

According to EspnLin told the youth conference that he "became so obsessed with becoming a great basketball player…trying to be Linsanity, being this phenomenon that took the NBA by storm."

Lin remarked that his "coaches were losing faith" and "fans were making fun" of him. He explained that he had put too much expectations upon himself, as a result he felt he "had no joy, and felt no freedom."

Scott Caan, son of James Caan, celebrates his birthday today too. Caan turns 37. He had a colorful background before becoming an actor. He was a road crew member to Cypress Hill and House of Pain. He was even in a rap duo with Alan Maman.

Currently Caan portrays the role of Danny Williams on Hawaii Five-0. Melanie Griffth just signed up to play his mother on the CBS show, according to Star Pulse. CBS states that the Jonas Brother are going to perform on the Beach in Waikiki following the premiere of Hawaii Five-0 on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.
