‘America’s Next Top Model’ recap: The Girl Who Gets Married Again

Tonight, the top 16 models were taken to new heights as they walked a runway down the side of a building and later posed in a wedding-themed photo shoot. However, at the end of the episode, one guy and one girl didn’t make the cut.
When Tyra announced that the models would have to “fiercely walk down a Guess runway,” gesturing to the multi-story building behind her, the models were dubious.
“I’m scared as hell,” Renee admitted.
So was Don, who said, “My one fear in life is heights.”
Chlea and Bianca, however, told the cameras they have no problem with heights!
Unfortunately, the daunting height wasn’t the only issue they had to tackle – the night of the fashion show, a downpour made the runway even more challenging.
The models looked gorgeous, but terrified, in denim Guess outfits as they waited on the rooftop for their turn.
Nina and Chris S. were the first up (or should I say down). Nina slipped on the vertical runway, which was extra slick from the rainfall. Although she noted it was not a fair challenge, as the girls wore stilettos while the guys wore sturdy shoes, Nina was able recover from her slip and made it to the bottom.
Marvin and Renee both rocked the runway, strutting down the side of the building with confidence. Bianca, on the other hand, slipped on the way down and quit walking – she was lowered down by her harness and rope instead. Mike did okay down the side of the building, but it was the horizontal runway where his walk was so stiff, one of the other models commented that he must have something stuck between his legs!
When the judges tallied up the scores, Bianca and Mike were the bottom two. Marvin came in second place, and Renee won the challenge, winning access to the Tyra suite and with a Guess closet!
Back at the house after the challenge, Marvin’s near-win must have went to his head because he began flirting with all the ladies! Marvin admitted the girl he’s most interested in, though, is Bianca. Unfortunately for him, Bianca was sweet on Mike, who mutually shared the attraction.
The romantic drama was interrupted with a piece of Tyra mail, which told the models, “To make it to the top is a fierce and long commitment.”
The next day, the models found out their long commitment would be marriage as they posed in pairs for alternative wedding editorials.
Jeremy and Jourdan were posed for a nudist wedding first. The two had opposite problems – Jeremy was embarrassed of his virginity, while Jourdan flashed back to her broken-up marriage. Chris H and Don posed as a gay couple, and Corey and Chlea said their “I dos” hard core biker style. Marvin married, not one, but five brides, while Phil gave his vows to a television set in a case of objectophilia.
The judges deliberated and added up the scores from both the Guess runway challenge and wedding photo shoot to decide who was going to be sent home. Before revealing the scores, the judged gave some feedback. Everyone agreed that Mike was a terrible runway walker. Although Cory posed as a biker dude, the judges thought he needed to work posing as a ‘straight guy.’ Chris H on the other hand ‘killed the shot’ as a straight man pretending to be gay. Jourdan needed to be a little less bland in her shot, and Kelly Cutrone said that Chlea was just plain rude.
In the end, the guys earned this week’s top three places – Marvin in the lead, with Don in second and Chris H in third. The worst three scores belonged to Mike, Bianca, and Chris S, the latter of the two who would not be returning.
The top 14 will be moving on to their third week of competition. We’ll see what crazy things Tyra has up her sleeve for them next Friday at 9/8c!
