This Week in Comedy: Pandora Comedy and 'Drunk History'

Comedy Central is starting the Drunk History television show, NBC is prepping for a new sketch comedy show, and Pandora has comedy channels.

For those of you who are fans of the webseries on Funny or Die, Drunk History, this will be exciting news for you. Comedy Central has announced a new, weekly, half-hour version! Drunk History will hopefully be just as funny, and confusingly educational as the webseries. I am especially curious to see if they change the drunk aspect of the show for television.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is prepping for a new sketch comedy show. They have done little casting, as far as this article says, but are prepping to go on a search for new, and experienced talent. It seems like they will be trying to another Saturday Night Live, although it is unclear why they would do that. Either way, if you are an aspiring sketch comedy performer, or writer, you may want to keep an eye out for this project.

Pandora, according to Forbes, has expanded into comedy. Pandora is well-known for its self-tailored music selections, and it is working to make the same possible with comedy. I am heading right over to check out “Women in Comedy.”
