Attention chocolate lovers, there is finally a day to express your love of your favorite sweet treat.
July 7 is National Chocolate Day. So bring out the Kit-Kats and let the Hershey Kisses rain down from above.
While there is no one that can claim that title of initiating this holiday, we should all take a moment to enjoy the sweeter things in life.
I recently went to the Dominican Republic and saw firsthand how chocolate is made and boy, did I have the best hot chocolate.
Chocolate comes from the Cacao tree in the form of a fruit. Once the fruit is cut open, white, slimey balls are inside. Each portion needs to be pulled apart and split apart. The portions are then laid out in the heat for seven days until they are dried out. Then the dried portions are roasted for 35 minutes, with the constant stirring.
From those delicious roasted portions will come some of the heaviest, most mouthwatering chocolate that anyone can imagine.
Now that I have your mouth watering, I’ve decided to come up with the perfect menu to celebrate today.
For breakfast, I suggest delicious Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Cinnamon cream, courtesy Food Network.
Next comes lunch: Try this delicious dark chocolate and pear Panini, courtesy of courtesy KitchenDaily.
Dinner: I suggest a nice salad, with a little chocolate of course, courtesy of Food Network.
Lastly, let’s not forget dessert! Try this amazing Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake, courtesy of Food Network.
So sit back, pour yourself a glass of milk and unbutton those pants, because it’s going to be a long, delicious day.
