Johnny Depp: the end of acting career 'not too far away'

Johnny Depp admitted in an interview that he plans to give up acting sometime in the near future.
Depp talked about the decision to BCC, saying, “At a certain point you start thinking, and when you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year, for example, and you realize you’ve said written words more than you've had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking about that as an insane option for a human being.”
The 50-year-old actor has recently received both praise and criticism for his latest role as Tonto in the film The Lone Ranger. Depp explained his portrayal of the Comanche Native American character to BBC, saying he wanted to take the stereotype of a Native American as an inferior sidekick to a cowboy, and flip it on its head.
Depp’s talk of throwing in the towel on acting comes not long after another interview with Fox 411, in which he discussed the downfalls of fame.
“Are there quieter things that I wouldn’t mind doing? Yeah,” Depp said. “I wouldn’t say that I’m dropping out any second, but I’d probably say that it’s not too far away.”
