Heidi Klum’s ‘Project Runway’ billboard banned in LA due to risqué images

A billboard promoting the new season of Project Runway has been banned from Los Angeles because its content has been deemed too racy for the city.
The billboard features a picture of the show’s host and producer Heidi Klum and the show’s on-site mentor Tim Gunn. The pair are perched in a throne room and are costumed in Victorian attire – Klum wearing a tall curled wig and a large ruffled gown and Gunn sporting a bowtie and vest. At their feet, nude male and female models lie on the ground and gaze up at them in adoration.

According to Variety, the city of LA is able to prohibit signs with obscene content, although in this case it remains unclear whether it was the city itself or a private advertising space seller that banned the billboard.
Since its rejection, the LA billboard is being altered to cover the scandalously unclad models in some underwear, although the original is still set to go up around New York City, according to TooFab.com.
Season 12 of Project Runway is set to air July 18 on Lifetime.
