Amanda Bynes placed on involuntary psychiatric hold

Amanda Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold - also known as involuntary psychiatric hold - in Los Angeles after being taken in on Monday for trespassing. She can only be held under that status for 72 hours.

This action was taken after she was found to have set a small fire in a driveway, says TMZ.

According to Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, "Amanda Bynes was involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood last night in Thousand Oaks in the 200-block of Avenida De Los Arboles. Deputies investigated the incident and determined that she met the criteria of 5150 W&I (California Welfare & Institutions Code). She was detained and taken for a mental health evaluation."

This isn't the first time Bynes has exhibited odd and erratic behavior. Earlier in the year the former child star was charged with reckless endangerment and attempted tampering with physical evidence after allegedly throwing a bong out the window from her 26th-floor New York City apartment, says USA Today.

Bynes has also been in the spotlight for her revealing selfie twitpics and inconsistent, blunt, and controversial tweets, like "surgery is my favorite topic" and "if you look good words can't hurt you".
