Shad and Skratch Bastid, released a five-track EP called The Spring Up on June 12. Shad handled the mic while Skratch Bastid produced the beats.
According to The Needle Drop, both Shad and Skratch Bastid are Canadian hip hop musicians.
Shad’s Bandcamp describes The Spring Up as influenced by Outkast’s Aquemeni. The five-track collection is described as the outcome of good timing and session in Skratch Bastid’s studio in Toronto in April.
DJ Jazzy Jeff contributes in the production of the first track “Classic.” The first track is filled with an abundance of scratching, and a blaring siren that adds to the epic feel.
The fourth track, “Homie” features a verse from fellow Canadian Cadence Weapon. “Homie” is a funky, danceable song with smooth verses from both Shad and Cadence Weapon.
The good news is that Shad’s Bandcamp offer the EP for any chosen price.
This EP leads up to Shad’s upcoming full-length album in which Skratch Bastid also chips in.
