Justin Bieber’s newest plans will require quite a bit of traveling, in fact, many miles in altitude.
Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun have just signed up for a flight into space -62 miles in altitude to be exact-through the Virgin Galactic program according to The Los Angeles Time. The pop star paid a $250,000 fee to the program’s founder Richard Branson, and he spread the word right away.
Branson tweeted,"Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!”
Bieber then replied, "let's shoot a music video in SPACE!! #nextLEVEL,"and retweeted Branson's tweet to his millions of fans.
19-year-old Bieber will be one of many celebrities aboard the flight, including famous actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher, who have also shelled out the $250,000 to experience space, according to Starpulse.com.
This money will buy the passengers their experience of zero-gravity time, a view of Earth and a thrilling journey back down to a runway landing on Earth. Though the Virgin Galactic program is not yet commercially operational, its SpaceShipTwo carrier is scheduled to begin operations at Spaceport America in New Mexico by 2014.
