James Gandolfini funeral programs listed on Ebay for $1000

Less than a full day after actor James Gandolfini was laid to rest in New York, a few insensitive funeral-goers were already hawking their service programs on eBay.

Programs from the Emmy-award winning actor’s funeral were offered for $1,000 on the e-retailer, with at least two separate listings for the 16-page programs going up on Friday.

“James Gandolfini funeral program June 27, 2013. 16 Pages. Program from his funeral I attended,” read one of the listings. The seller opened the bidding up at $1,000 with a Buy It Now asking price of $1,300.

The simple black-and-white program features a head shot of the Sopranos star on the cover with the seal of The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, where the star’s funeral took place. The cover reads “A Celebration of the Life of James John Gandolfini.”

Bidding for a second program, described as a “rare original guide program of James Gandolfini’s beautiful funeral,” was above $100, according to The New York Post. Another listing for a “presteen mint condition” booklet with “no tears, no folds” added, “I’m a huge fan myself and this really is a must have for the ultimate Sopranos and James Gandolfini fan.”

About 2,000 people attended the service Thursday morning at the cathedral including his teary cast mates from The Sopranos and some members of the public, who had lined up outside for hours before the church doors opened.

The listings appear to be have been taken down.
