Hillary Clinton joins Twitter

Hillary Clinton has finally joined the Twittersphere, racking up hundreds of thousands of followers only six hours after her first tweet.

Her first two followers, according to Time, were husband Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea.

Hillary quickly racked up followers after her first tweet went live on Monday afternoon.

She displayed a sense of humor with her background and profile picture: the iconic black-and-white “Texts from Hillary” meme photo of Hillary on her cell phone.

The former FLOTUS follows husband and former President Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, Clinton Global, and the Clinton School.

Some speculate that Hillary’s decision to join Twitter hints that she is planning on running for President in 2016, according to CNET.

The social networking site would undoubtedly prove useful in a future presidential campaign.

Her first Tweet cites “Texts from Hillary” co-creator Adam Smith and blogger-reporter Stacey Lambe as “inspiration.”

Husband Bill also recently joined Twitter after comedian Stephen Colbert created an account for him.
