No beard, no problem!
A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty has expanded its cast to include The Robertson Family’s fourth son, Alan. The 47-year-old is the eldest of Phil and Kay’s sons and will make his debut on season 4’s premiere August 14th. Willie, Jes, and Jap are three unlikely millionaires who hit it big in the duck calling industry. Along with their father, they are the stars of Dynasty, which brought in a whopping 10 million viewers for its third season finale.
According to Lousianna’s KSLA, Alan prides himself with starting the successful family business, having sold their ducking calling devices before joining the ministry 22 years ago. He technically rejoined the cast last season, working behind the scenes and helping to schedule appearances.
The oldest brother looked at both the positive and negative consequences of the decision, as it would mean leaving his occupation as a pastor. He ultimately decided the benefits outweighed to costs, telling The New York Post, “What I do for our church — you see, it's a pretty good-sized church — impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I'll get to minister to a lot more people."
The Duck Dynasty cast are known for their intriguing personalities, unlikely business smarts, camo-clad ensembles, and of course those well-endowed beards. That’s why it comes as a shock to fans that Alan is completely clean-shaven. “It's like a Sasquatch in reverse. It's a sighting. But instead of a hairy sighting I'm the clean sighting,” Alan told KSLA last November. “Everybody's like, I heard there's another one, a mystical creature."
