'Revolution' Recap: 'The Longest Day'

Nora woke up next to Miles in bed and tried to sneak off before he noticed. Unfortunately for her, he arose and asked her where she was going and why. Nora explained that she felt that the night before was a mistake. However, Miles disagreed and the viewer can see signs of concern for Nora.

Meanwhile, Neville and his son Jason were still at odds. Neville approached his son at an outside table. He grabbed a gun off the table, loaded and cocked it, then placed it in Jason's hand, pointed toward himself in the chest. Neville provoked Jason, telling him to act like a man, to shoot him. But Jason refused, and Charlie was in the background watching it all. Neville smacked his son on the face patronizingly and remarked, "No matter how hard you try, you are never going to get rid of me…"

Jason ran off distraught and angry, Charlie chased after him. Charlie comforted him and related to him a similar situation with her own mother, Rachel. As Charlie mentioned her mother, Rachel, the episode's attention changed. Rachel and Aaron were at a camp site talking about how Aaron’s computer research was important to The Tower. Rachel and Aaron both do not know the connection and move past it, for that time being. Aaron tried to pick up severely injured Rachel. However her injury was too severe and caused too much pain. Rachel knew Aaron would not leave without her But she had an idea and reached into her bag, pulled out a 1st generation nanorobotic device. She explained to Aaron that technology existed in the days of power and that this particular device was keeping her son alive (when he was alive).

The episode returned to Charlie and Jason getting water at the Northern watchtower of the Rebel camp. As they were talking and fetching water they heard a noise, it was drones. Monroe sent two drones to bomb the Rebels. The drones were very successful. The main camp was demolished and heavy casualties were sustained. The Northern watchtower was obliterated. Charlie was buried alive under the rubble. Jason severely injured was not. He thought Charlie was dead, and tried to make his way back to camp. Miles refused to let Charlie die, and wanted to rescue her if he could. Nora decided to go also to keep Miles alive. Even Neville agreed to tag along because he wanted to save Jason, or he claimed his wife would never forgive him, if he let their son die alone.

Baker reported to Monroe the success of the drone strike, and reported the troops were moving in to crush the Rebel encampment fully. Monroe being a recluse sociopath refused to be happy until he saw Miles' dead body. Baker managed to break through Monroe's obsession, and had him entertain the idea of getting a drink. As they left Monroe's office for drinks their body guards were shot down. Only Monroe and Baker survived. Monroe immediately became convinced it was a plot against his life by Baker. Monroe confronted Baker in his office about it. He blatantly accused him, where Baker knew his death was unavoidable offered one last speech. He told Monroe, with much honesty, that he surely would conquer the continent. But that he would be alone a paranoid madman killing everyone around him, with no friends to show for it. He told Monroe that it was his own fault Neville and Miles betrayed him, as he drove them to that point. Sadly Baker explained that he was still his friend and stuck with him, only to be killed by him. Monroe thanked Baker for his honesty and left him in the office to be shot. Later a solider reported to Monroe that the assassin was captured and was the only acting agent. Monroe realized his friend was innocent and he killed him out of paranoia.

In the computer store Aaron and Rachel found supplies. Aaron created some computer system to reprogram the nanite and performed the pseudo-surgery on her. Aaron and Rachel were then ambushed by some men with guns who captured them. They took them to there base, where the man who captured them wanted Rachel and Aaron to fix his son's broken ribs. Rachel agreed but said they needed supplies from the store. Once there Aaron was about to explain nanites to the father, and Rachel knocked him over the head with some metal object. Aaron confused asked Rachel why they weren't going to help the boy. Rachel explained the boy was already dead, and that her only concern was getting the power back on, no matter the cost. Aaron realized that Rachel would stop at nothing to turn the power back on, even if it meant leaving him.

Meanwhile, Miles, Nora and Neville came across Jason. Neville took Jason to safety while Miles and Nora went onward to find Charlie. Neville on his escape with his son was stopped by four Monroe soldiers. He shot them all dead with just a handgun in an amazing display of skill and prowess. He was shot in the arm during it but saved his son and himself. Nora and Miles become pinned down trying to find Charlie. Miles told Nora to cover him as he ran toward the watchtower to find Charlie. However, she began telling him that she didn't want to lose him and that Charlie was surely dead. He rebuked her and remarked that he wasn't going to abandon her like he did her mother. Nora made a strange face, as if she realized something, and ran off to draw the troops away from Miles. Miles found Charlie running from a pursuer, she was tackled to the ground and Miles saved her by killing the Monroe solider. He went looking for Nora, but there was no sign of her. She was captured. The episode ended with the viewer seeing Nora thrown before the feet of Monroe himself. But before that the episode cut to Jason in the hospital with Charlie, they exchanged apologies and kissed. As they were kissing Neville was coming down the hallway to see his son, only to find the two kissing, he looked enraged and disappointed.
