Jackie Chan joins rising Chinese star Fan Bingbing in ‘Skiptrace’

Skiptrace is an action comedy that will be directed by Sam Fell. It will star Jackie Chan and Fan Bingbing.

According to Reuters, the film will be produced by Exclusive Media and Talent International. The basic story idea of the film comes from Chan. The film will be written by Jay Longino and the team that wrote The Sitter: Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka.

Skiptrace is about a Hong Kong detective (Chan) who is responsible for tracking down a mouthy American gambler and con-artist on the run from his creditors. The two men form an unlikely partnership in an attempt to take down Hong Kong's biggest criminal. The story will take place in some of China's most scenic and exotic locales, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Chan’s most recent film was Chinese 12 Zodiac. He directed, wrote, produced and starred in that film.

Fan Bingbing is a Chinese fashion icon and actress that has starred in numerous films in China. She will also star in her first American film: Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Day of Future Past.

In addition to starring, Chan will produce Skiptrace with David Gerson.

Production has yet to begin.
