Randy Blythe, the singer of Lamb of God, has been indicted for manslaughter in the Czech Republic.
The charges are due to accusations that Blythe pushed a man off the stage during a concert in 2010 in Prague. The man ended up dying from the injuries he suffered, reports E! News.
After the incident, he spent five weeks in jail in the Czech Republic capital but was released and allowed to continue touring. Blythe also promised he would return if they needed him to.
"We believe that Randy responded professionally to the numerous amount of fans rushing the stage that day, a number of them captured on videos that have been posted on the internet," Larry Mazer, the band's manager, said in a statement quoted by Rolling Stone.
"We have testimony from the venue operator that acknowledges lax security and an improper barricade being used that evening. Numerous testimonies from fans also were contradictory as to the actions of the multiple fans that tried to access the stage," Mazer continued.
Blythe says he doesn't remember what happened that night but that it would come out in the trial.
"The Czech legal system is different, and from what I understand, I was given due process. I was not imprisoned in America. That was the first thing that I had to realize and keep in mind—'We're playing by different rules here.' I certainly would have appreciated a little bit more concern on my part," he said when asked if the U.S. government should get involved on his behalf.
Prague prosecutors have three months to set a trial date or ask to further investigate.
