Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate who has flirted with the notion of entering the 2012 GOP race over the past several months, is slamming media pundits for claiming to have inside information about her political aspirations.

A statement was released Tuesday by Palin’s SarahPAC political action committee, refuting rumors that she intends to make a formal announcement during a Tea Party rally in Iowa on September 3.

“Any professional pundit claiming to have ‘inside information’ regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public,” the statement reads.

Palin also denounced what she refers to as the “lamestream media” for using political gamesmanship to generate discussion on the airwaves.

“These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the ‘politics-as-usual’ that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career,” the statement continues.

Palin’s statement comes just days after Karl Rove, a Republican strategist and former adviser to George W. Bush, predicted on Fox News over the weekend that she will run.
