Shia LaBeouf to keep 'Company' with Robert Redford

Shia LaBeouf isn't wasting any time kick-starting his post-Transformers career.

After announcing that the franchise's third film, Dark of the Moon, would be his last, LaBeouf has already begun talks for his next movie, a political thriller with Hollywood icon Robert Redford.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Michael Bay protoge will headline The Company You Keep alongside the Oscar-winning Redford, who will also direct.

Cinema Blend reports that the action film is being adapted by Lem Dobbs from a novel by Neil Gordon.

The story concerns a former member of radical government organization Weather Underground who, while on the run from the FBI, is uncovered by a young journalist. The two then proceed to play cat-and-mouse.

Redford will play the runaway political man while LaBeouf will play the determined journalist.

It's another interesting choice for the Disney Channel star of yore, who's definitely done action before with Transformers, the moderate success Eagle Eye and critically panned Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but whose political flick experience basically consists of stock-market-and-rich-people corruption in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.
